Plug Progress

Not much to report this week, but this is plug progress from 5/21/25:

The above had a 2.5 inch cut, so that is notable. The rest of the yard is still being cut at 4″, but there were some technical reasons for that. For contrast, this was the original starting point from April 9th:

This is a direct sun location and we’ve been in a kind of drought. So I guess for St. Augustine sod plugs, getting a decent fill-in takes about 3 months. I think timing the plugs to plant right when soil temps are in the 60s is probably the best way to go, and I think the only step I really missed was using a pre-emergent (so kyllinga ended up needing to be killed between the plugs.)
